Paradigm For Excellence grew from a partnership between the owners of two other companies, already dedicated to ensuring that Manufacturing and Operational Excellence were the cornerstones of successful, profitable manufacturing businesses.
However, far too often we witnessed a lack of political will, no duty of care toward the company's production assets, a lack of leadership, continued tolerance of poor automation practice, abysmal change management and projects that repeatedly failed to deliver a decent Return On Investment.
Between them, the owners of Paradigm for Excellence have over 50 years experience in manufacturing covering many sectors and aspects of automation, including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, DCS, MES, KPI engines and middleware links into ERP systems.
Torben Kjaer's experience as owner of Alsinger Integration has resulted in a real-world education where it counts: on the factory floor with machine operators who cope daily with sub-standard coding practices and a frustrating workplace, simply because the equipment's programs were poorly written in the first place. If an organisation is to improve at all, then the reliable operation of the individual machine components is crucial. Without this solid foundation, Continuous Improvement becomes a tail-chasing and demoralising process, doomed to failure.
John Broadbent's experience as previous owner of MillenniumIT has resulted in someone who has experienced a significant portion of his production life in control rooms, again with operators, gaining a deep understanding of their frustrations at the lack of timely, reliable and accurate information. Added to this is John's experience with Operational Excellence, OEE and meaningful KPI collection, and a deep understanding of the information flow required to improve efficiencies.
Together, their mission for Paradigm For Excellence is to empower production staff with the necessary tools for not only the reliable operation of production assets with correct and timely notification of issues when they occur, but also the contextual information necessary to measure real-time performance and close the loop on Continuous Improvement.
Each small, tangible, efficient and cost effective step contains the potential to bring any manufacturer into alignment with world's best practice.
As in any journey, the first step is the most difficult however many have gone before and already blazed a trail.
The improvement cycle is simple: Measure -> Improve -> Measure again ...
The alternative is to contract, diminish and eventually perish.
All it takes is courage, commitment, mandate, focus and the willingness to learn and be guided along the way by those that have gone before.
Paradigm For Excellence ... Experience the Empowerment.
